Yan Liu has lived in Tredyffrin Township since 2013 and has been a proud and engaged member of the community. He holds a Ph.D. in biopharmaceutical sciences from Rutgers University and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He and his wife raised their son here, who attended local schools before going on to college.
As a longtime resident, Yan has witnessed the township’s rapid growth over the past few years. While this brings energy and opportunity, it also creates challenges: increased traffic, pressure on public schools, and greater strain on roads and infrastructure. Yan believes thoughtful, balanced planning is essential to protect quality of life and long-term sustainability. He is also concerned about township overspending and proposals for a new local income tax, which could place additional burdens on residents. He supports fiscal responsibility, transparency, and decisions that reflect the community's priorities as a whole.
Having experienced life both as a newcomer and as a longtime resident, Yan brings a perspective that bridges different voices in the township. With a scientific background and a practical, community-first mindset, he hopes to bring thoughtful, balanced leadership to the Board of Supervisors, ensuring Tredyffrin remains strong, inclusive, and well-managed for all.
If elected, Yan will focus on the following key areas: ensuring the budget is transparent and responsible, keeping development aligned with infrastructure capacity, protecting residents from unnecessary tax increases, and enhancing communication between the township and its residents. His goal is to help Tredyffrin not just grow, but grow wisely.
